Jed Smith Waiouchi trail through Stout Grove. Gorgeous walk through the redwoods, but the opposite bank is strewn with RVs at Jed Smith park.
Swimmer’s Delight The VanDuzen passes through a fat stand of old growth timber, but it also goes through miles of dairy farms. Water quality is questionable at best.
Grays Falls Fine for steelhead and salmon, but creatures without fins may find the water too fast. Also dam release water.
Sandy Bar As many as 100 people on a holiday weekend. Pass.
High Rock Bland. Too accessible.
Swinging Bridge Pretty and fairly remote, but the water’s only chest deep on a tall man.
Deadman’s Gross with litter. Dozens of cans, several socks and a disposable diaper.
Big River Dirt bikes and target shooting, lots of timber company land. Muddy water.
